Fix Microsoft Teams Stuck on “Loading” by Clearing the Right Cache Folder
Table of Contents
😫 You open Microsoft Teams, it shows “Loading…” forever, and restarting your PC or reinstalling Teams doesn’t fix it.

When Microsoft Teams gets stuck on Loading, the root cause is often a corrupted local cache, not your network or account.
With the new Microsoft Teams (Windows 11 and latest M365), the cache location has changed. Clearing the correct folder forces Teams to rebuild its local state—fixing login loops, blank screens, and endless loading without touching your data or tenant settings.
This issue commonly appears after:
- Teams updates
- Windows updates
- Password or MFA changes
- Switching between tenants or accounts
✅ Benefits
- Restores Teams access in minutes
- Avoids unnecessary reinstallations
- Prevents repeated login and loading loops
- Saves IT support time and user frustration
🛠️ Procedure
1. Fully Close Microsoft Teams
- Right‑click the Teams icon in the system tray
- Select Quit
- Confirm Teams is not running in Task Manager
2. Clear the New Teams Cache
- Press Win + R
- Paste this path and press Enter:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe- Delete the LocalCache folder
3. Restart Teams
- Launch Teams from the Start menu
- Sign in again if prompted
- Teams will rebuild the cache automatically
📎 Notes
This applies to the new Microsoft Teams (Windows Store–based)
Classic Teams uses a different cache path (%AppData%\Microsoft\Teams)
Clearing cache does not delete chats, files, or settings from the cloud
Ideal first fix before reinstalling or escalating to IT
👉 If Teams hangs on “Loading,” don’t reinstall first—clear the right cache. It’s the fastest and safest fix in most cases.
